Structural Vinyasa
Developed by Claire Hartley, Structural Vinyasa is a new biomechanical approach to a modern vinyasa yoga practice. Drawing on her decades of experience as a yoga teacher and movement rehabilitation specialist, Structural Vinyasa was created to help students experiencing chronic tension and diminished joint mobility access strength and freedom of movement.

What is Structural Vinyasa, anyway?
Based on neurokinetic therapy and the biomechanics of developmental movement, Structural Vinyasa deconstructs the modern vinyasa yoga flow, and rebuilds it with alignment and structural safety of the spine and core in mind. This method emphasizes a deliberate return to core stability through intelligent breathwork and precise attention to what remains stable through your movements.
You will enter familiar asanas with a new perspective and heightened awareness, deepening your understanding of what your yoga practice could look like.
Student Testimonials
I found Rising Lotus Yoga when I moved to the area in 2010. At this time, I had been practicing yoga for about ten years and had worked with some really good teachers, but none of them can compare to Claire Hartley. Her classes bring such depth to the practice. She is light-hearted, passionate about the practice, knowledgeable about anatomy, and is an absolutely brilliant teacher. Each class is designed to guide you to a deeper understanding of yourself. As you gain knowledge about your body, your compensation patterns, what you do instinctually when you are uncomfortable, you strengthen not only your body but also your mind. In Claire's class, I found the mind-body-soul connection. I bring the wisdom of her dharma talks into my daily life. I embody the peacefulness I find on my mat and take that out into the world with me. Claire has changed yoga for me. It is no longer just exercise. It is a way of living and of being present in this world. I have now practiced at Rising Lotus for many years. All the teachers are amazing. This is more than just a studio. It is a community and I am so grateful to have found it.

I highly recommend this studio. It has the best community with wonderful teachers. I specifically like Claire’s structural vinyasa class. She guides you through functional movement as you do yoga. We all need ways to find our body better and this offers it. I’m always learning which is the key to growth. The other teachers are fantastic too!
